U.P. Ophthalmology was established in June of 1990 by Carol Kolinsky, M.D. and soon after Darrell Kohli, M.D. joined the practice in July of 1991. U.P. Ophthalmology expanded their building to provide more exam rooms in 1994.

August of 2006, Jaylene Iverson, O.D. joined U.P. Ophthalmology. In 2009 U.P. Ophthalmology expanded their building to allow more space for their optical department.

Carol Kolinsky, M.D. retired in June of 2015 and Jaylene Iverson, O.D. became part owner with Darrell Kohli, M.D. In November 2016 Andrea Mott, O.D. joined U.P. Ophthalmology.

Darrell Kohli, M.D., Jaylene Iverson, O.D., and Andrea Mott, O.D. pride themselves in providing quality eye care to Escanaba and the surrounding communities. Together they provide eye care for cataracts, glaucoma, age related macular degeneration, diabetic eye care and comprehensive eye exams. Dr. Kohli performs various eye surgeries and procedures.
